Props go out to Colleen and Ryan Hudson. They gave me a great tip over the weekend. What do you do when your infant is screaming at the top of his lungs and there is just nothing you can do to help him. You put on a few of your favorite tunes. And I don’t mean for the baby, I mean for you.

All the visual cues remain and as long as you can keep your voice low, (you know, the WHAT? effect when you are wearing earphones). The white noise that comes from the outside of earphones seemed to help a little too. Within minutes of putting on music, Zach calmed down, and was dead asleep within 20. Thanks again to Colleen and Ryan. With two little ones pretty close in age, asking them about parenting is like asking a guy on crutches the quickest way to get somewhere.

If you are a mac user, you probably heard about this. If you are an iBook or Powerbook user, you definitely heard about this. Apple and Dell, among many other manufacturers who have notebook computers with certain types of Sony batteries in them, recently issued a battery recall. The batteries were causing fires in some cases.

Unfortunately I was among the 1.8 million other geeks who participated. The great part about it is that the exchange was made faster than I had expected. I first submitted the form on August 24th, and I got my replacement on September 6th. Apple got off to a slow start with forms that didn’t work and misinformation on their phone lines. But they seem to be rectifying the situation very well.

If you suspect that your computer maybe affected you can check here.
