Forgive me, I’m a little late with this post. It’s the middle of your fourth month. Anyway, your third month was certainly an eventful one. Some of the highlights include your first Halloween, your first week alone with your Dad, the ability to support your own weight and the finding of your voice.

Your first Halloween was a little too much excitement for you as you slept for most of the time. Your Grandma Kathey and Aunt Casey spent most of the day taking care of you. They dressed you up in your monkey costume. Your mom and I chose a costume for you that WE thought you would like. I’m sure there will be plenty of Halloweens ahead filled with fake blood and scary monsters. So at least we will have these cute pictures of your very first costume. You went trick-or-treating with your cousins Max and Addie (Buzz Lightyear and a Black Cat Witch) and Aunt Colleen and Aunt Casey. We also went with a ghoul who looked suspiciously like you Papa Roger.

Mom wasn’t there on the actual day of Halloween but she got to see you in your costume when you went to Grandma Judy and Grandpa Mark’s to have a Halloween party with your cousins Mallory and Adam (a cowgirl and a cow). Your mom had to go to work in Las Vegas for the week. She missed you so much, but she called every day and you talked to her a lot. So with mommy in Las Vegas, that left just you and I in the house. What a week we had. I learned what it truly means to be a father. You got pretty sick that week, though. We spent an evening in urgent care at the hospital you were born at. Turns out the ear infection you came down with never went away and it was upsetting you and your body. We both learned a lot about each other, and thankfully both stayed alive until mom got home.

We also learned during our time together that your little legs can support your body weight, and you can ’stand’ with help from mom or dad. You have also found that you have hands and a voice. You use both often, but your voice is your weapon of choice. Wow, you sure are opinionated.

You are getting big also…fast. You saw the doctor and you weighed 15lb 10oz. You also got your first set of shots. It made your mom and me sad to see you in such pain, but it is necessary for your long-term good health.

The doctor also informed us that teething has officially begun. We were all getting decent sleep, but from what we’ve heard that may change with your gums becoming sore as a result of cutting teeth.

We can’t get over what a wonderful boy you are. You are so easy to smile and happy. You are such a joy and we feel so blessed.
