Still Waiting…

7.19_pregnant.jpg

I guess we are not technically waiting. The due date isn’t for another few days (July 23rd). And yes that is for both of them. On the left is my wife Nikki, and on the right is our sister-in-law Jen. Aside from a very urgent false alarm a couple of weeks ago for Jen, we have seen no real signs of these babies actually making a pre-due date appearance. Nikki has an induction appointment set for July 30th. We’re still hoping for labor the natural way but we’re covered for sure. If you asked Nikki and Jen, I’m sure they would both rather sooner than later. It’s a hot July in Michigan…

The New FXSTC

Much like bell bottoms, if you wait long enough old styles will come back. Apparently that’s true with the Softail Custom. Harley-Davidson felt adding ‘Custom’ models to the 5 families was working well. They’ve reinstated the FXSTC Softail Custom for 2007.

The last one rolled off the assembly line back in 99. I personally have the 96 model. Great bike.

A lot of advancements have been made since 99. All in all I wouldn’t trade my bike for anything, but seeing something that pretty is bound to make anyone think twice.

New Standard Drivetrain

7.19_96.jpg

The 2007 Harley-Davidson models were officially released yesterday. Man what a cool lineup. A couple of new models and some neat updates on long standing models. The biggest changes made across the board for Big Twin models are to the drivetrain. All Dyna, Softail and Touring models now have a 96 cubic inch Twin Cam. Up 8 ci or 154 cc, from the 88. They also get the 6 Speed Cruise Drive Transmission, introduced on the Dynas last year. As the world of custom motorcycles continues to get more and more radical, Willie G. does a heck of a job serving up some neat stuff from the factory.

Finally Going to the Wordpress Blog Format

7.18_blog.jpg

I know that creativity rarely begins with conformity, but I was just so jealous of all of the other out-of-box features that conventional blog software provided. I also have a bit of a problem getting items up on the site. Blog software makes it much more convenient for me. So I will get in line and moo along with the rest of the bloggers and abandon my custom ways.
